The college was founded by G. Pulla Reddy in 1997. [4] In 2023, the college celebrated its silver jubilee. President Droupadi Murmu, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy were among those who attended the event. [5]
The IITH campus is on a land area of 576 acres (234 ha). Despite being called IIT Hyderabad, its campus is about 60 km from the main city.
