James Hamilton McColl, MBE (1935 – 22 October 2024) was a Scottish horticulturalist, writer and garden presenter. He was one of the original presenters of BBC Scotland's flagship gardening programme Beechgrove. McColl co-presented the programme for 41 years, becoming the BBC's longest serving garden presenter.
The name led to him being noticed and invited to screen test for The Instant Gardener, [4] a daytime BBC programme that ran for two seasons in 2015 and 2016. [ 5 ] [ 6 ] He also appeared as a presenter for the BBC on the RHS Chelsea and RHS Tatton Flower shows and Tree of the Year for Channel 4 in 2016. [ 7 ]
James Alexander L. S. Wong (born 26 May 1981) is a British ethnobotanist, television presenter and garden designer. [1] He is best known for presenting the award-winning series Grow Your Own Drugs and the BBC and PBS series Secrets of Your Food, as well as being a panelist on the Radio 4 series Gardeners' Question Time.
Buckland's first job in TV was in 1996 as a horticultural researcher for Brian Lapping Associates working on Channel 4's Garden Party.In 1998 he then joined the Granada Breeze channel as a gardening presenter which led to TV roles designing and building gardens on shows including Home Front in the Garden, Real Wrecks, Carol Vorderman's Better Homes on ITV and BBC1's Garden Magic.
