The International S series is a range of trucks that was manufactured by International Harvester (later Navistar International) from 1977 to 2001.Introduced to consolidate the medium-duty IHC Loadstar and heavy-duty IHC Fleetstar into a single product range, the S series was slotted below the Transtar and Paystar Class 8 conventionals.
The bus chassis variant of the International S series is a cowled bus chassis (conventional style) that was produced by International Harvester (later Navistar International) from 1979 to 2004. Produced primarily for school bus applications, the chassis was also produced for other applications, including commercial-use buses and cutaway-cab buses.
The S series was a range of medium and heavy-duty conventional trucks that was introduced in 1977 to replace and widen the LoadStar and FleetStar lines. It used a new cab with flat panels and forward tilting hood in different lengths. The series was very wide, from the medium duty 1600 to the regional semi-tractor 2500 and severe-service 2600.

In 1978, IH offered the International Harvester S-Series, which replaced the Loadstar in 1979. With the truck and engine divisions remaining following the 1985 sale of the agricultural division, International Harvester Company changed their corporate name to Navistar International in 1986.
International S-Series The International Fleetstar is a series of heavy-duty trucks that was produced between 1962 and 1977 by International Harvester . Slotted above the Loadstar and below the Paystar and Transtar conventionals introduced after it, the Fleetstar was the first truck line that International designed specifically for vocational use.
International Harvester's first in house six-cylinder engines appeared in some of the 1926 S-series trucks, seemingly a response to market pressures rather than to any particular need for such a layout. [5] In 1928, a new heavy range of trucks (the HS-series) built around a series of engines from Hall-Scott appeared.
International Harvester S-Series The International Loadstar is a series of trucks that were produced by International Harvester from 1962 to 1978.
