The LSSV is a GM-built Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD, Chevrolet Tahoe, or Chevrolet Suburban that is powered by the 5.3 L V8 for the Tahoe, 6.0 L V8 for the Suburban, and a Duramax 6.6 L V8 turbo diesel engine for the pickup trucks. As GM has periodically redesigned its civilian trucks and SUVs since 2001, LSSVs have also been updated cosmetically.
For 1995, Chevrolet retired the K5 Blazer name (following suit with GMC), renaming it to the Chevrolet Tahoe. The same year, a four-door version of the Tahoe/Yukon was introduced (a short-wheelbase version of the Suburban with two rows of seats).
The GMT 400 and similar GMT 480 was the platform used for the Chevrolet C/K and GMC Sierra full-size pickup trucks beginning with the 1988 model year. [1] The GMT 410, GMT 420, GMT 425, and GMT 430 variants were derived for full-size SUVs, including the 1992–1994 Chevrolet Blazer and 1995–2000 Tahoe, and the GMC Yukon from late 1991 to 2000.
After trailing the rest of the C/K series for nearly five years, one-ton crew cab trucks, the Suburban SUVs, and the K5 Blazer/V-Jimmy all adopted the GMT400 architecture. To end nameplate confusion with its compact SUVs, GMC renamed the Jimmy as the GMC Yukon for 1992, with the Chevrolet K5 Blazer becoming the Chevrolet Tahoe for 1995.

Chevrolet introduced several specialized variants of the C/K series, including the work-oriented W/T 1500, off-road Z71, and the high-performance 454SS. Between one-ton trucks and the Kodiak medium-duty trucks, Chevrolet and GMC offered the C3500HD chassis cab for commercial use.
The 366 cu in (6.0 L) big-block V-8 gasoline engine was used in Chevrolet medium duty trucks and school buses. It had a bore and a stroke of 3.935 in × 3.76 in (99.9 mm × 95.5 mm). This engine was made from the 1960s until 2004.The 366 used 4 rings on the pistons, as it was designed from the very beginning as a truck engine.
Starting with the 1995 second generation, the large Blazer was rebranded as the Chevrolet Tahoe, and these mid-size SUVs were simply launched as the "all-new Chevrolet Blazer". Upon launch, these models were 14.5 in (37 cm) shorter and 14.9 in (38 cm) narrower than the full-size K5 Blazer , [ 1 ] sometimes leading to the nickname of "baby ...
