Aespa (/ ˈ ɛ s ˌ p ɑː / ES-pah; Korean: 에스파; RR: eseupa; MR: esŭp'a, commonly stylized in all lowercase or æspa) is a South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment. The group consists of four members: Karina , Giselle , Winter , and Ningning .
Aespa won the Rookie of the Year at all major music awards in South Korea, including the Melon Music Awards (MMA), MAMA Awards (MAMA), Golden Disc Awards (GDA), Seoul Music Awards (SMA), Circle Chart Music Awards (GCMA), and Korean Music Awards (KMA).
The EP sold 787,600 copies and was the best-selling debut physical release by an SM Entertainment act at the time. The lead single "Savage" also became Aespa's second top-five hit in South Korea and their first top 40 entry on the Billboard Global 200.
On April 22, 2024, SM Entertainment announced that Aespa would be releasing their first studio album titled Armageddon.It was also announced that the album would feature two singles: "Supernova" and "Armageddon", with the former releasing on May 13 and the latter, along with the album, on May 27.
