The 2024 Virginia wildfire season is an ongoing series of wildfires that have been burning throughout the U.S. state of Virginia.During the 2024 Spring wildfire season between February 15 to April 30, at least 411 wildfires burnt "nearly 20,000 acres", the largest area burned in the last 30 years in that time period, and nearly ten times as much as the 2023 Spring season with 2,174 acres.

Paris Mountain is a peak of Blue Ridge Mountain on the border of Loudoun County and Clarke County in Virginia. The 1,926 feet (587 m) peak, which is located just north of Ashby's Gap and the town of Paris, for which it is named, represents the highest elevation in both counties. The north face of Hawksbill Peak is a 2,500-foot (760 m) drop into Timber Hollow, which is the largest elevation change in the park.
