Mohammed Musa Hashmi, [2] known by his pen name Purnam Allahabadi was an Urdu poet and lyricist, best known for his worldwide famous Qawwali Bhar Do Jholi Meri Ya Muhammad sung by Sabri Brothers [3] and Tumhe Dillagi originally sung by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
The film includes the qawwali "Bhar Do Jholi Meri Ya Muhammad" originally written by Purnam Allahabadi and composed and sung by the Sabri Brothers. The qawwali was revamped with the voice of Adnan Sami Khan and partly includes "Dam Ali Ali".
EMI Pakistan and Amjad Sabri, heir to the Sabri Brothers, sued the producers of the film and the music label as they did not obtain the rights from the original artists and the label to use the qawwali song "Bhar Do Jholi Meri Ya Muhammad". [30] They sent a legal notice regarding the same, which barred the producers from using the song in the film.
"Bhar do Jholi Meri Ya Muhammad" was featured in the 2015 Bollywood movie Bajrangi Bhaijaan sung by Adnan Sami Khan with few changes in melody and lyrics. "Tajdar-e-Haram" was featured in the 2018 Bollywood movie Satyameva Jayate and was covered by Sajid–Wajid and sung by Wajid Khan from the same duo.
