In commemoration of the day, 26 August is a public holiday in Namibia. While recognized by the United Nations as Namibia Day, [8] the day is celebrated as Heroes' Day in Namibia.It is normally celebrated in different regions and for this year (26 August 2024)was celebrated at Omuthiya in Oshikoto region under the theme honoring our Martyrs.
These are stipulated in the Public Holidays Act of 1990 (Act 26 of 1990) of the Namibian National Assembly. When a public holiday fall on a Sunday, the following Monday is observed as a public holiday. In addition, the president of Namibia may declare additional public holidays to be observed in specific years. [1] [2]

The National Art Gallery of Namibia (NAGN) is a state-owned art gallery situated in Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia. It was founded in 1990. The goal of this institution is to preserve and encourage art in Namibia. It displays in a permanent exhibition of Namibian, African and European Art.
