Criminal is a series of four Netflix police procedural anthology TV series set in four countries. The four series are Criminal: France , Criminal: Germany , Criminal: Spain , and Criminal: UK . The series was devised by its showrunners George Kay and Jim Field Smith , [ 1 ] and produced by their company Idiotlamp Productions . [ 2 ]
The series stars Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, and Anna Torv, and follows the founding of the Behavioral Science Unit in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the late 1970s and the beginning of criminal profiling. [4] The first season of 10 episodes debuted worldwide on Netflix on October 13, 2017.
Sam investigates a series of murders which bear striking similarities to the methods of a killer whom Bailey put in prison 10 years earlier. Sam suspects that the real culprit is still free, and through her insight, she finds clues in the ancient I Ching art of divination that lead her to a high-ranking military officer who may be protecting the killer.
