Bass Lake was purchased in the 1950s by James Harry Cornell, who hosted a fishing club at the private lake. The lake was originally known as Mills Pond. [2] In 1996, Hurricane Fran destroyed Bass Lake Dam and consequently drained the lake; two years later, the Town of Holly Springs purchased the lake site for $230,000. [3]

Holly Springs Masonic Lodge is a historic Masonic Lodge located at Holly Springs, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built about 1852, and is a two-story, Greek Revival influenced frame building with a side gable roof. It has a one-story, hip roofed front porch. In addition to being a Masonic Lodge, the building also housed a school. [2]
