Statue of Wojtek in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh. The Trust commissioned a memorial [2] to honour Wojtek, and remember the courage of all Polish soldiers. It is located in Princes Street Garden in Edinburgh, Scotland. Planning permission was received from the City of Edinburgh Council on 16 September 2013 (13/02699/FUL). [3]
Princes Street Gardens are two adjacent public parks in the centre of Edinburgh, Scotland, lying in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle. The Gardens were created in the 1820s following the long draining of the Nor Loch and building of the New Town , beginning in the 1760s.
The statue was sculpted by Amelia Robertson Hill between 1875 and 1876 following Livingstone's death in 1873. [2] It was unveiled on 15 August 1876. [3] On 14 December 1970, the sculpture became a listed building and on 19 December 2002 the sculpture's listed status changed from B to A. [4]
It is placed on axis with South St. David Street, one of the two streets leading off St. Andrew Square to Princes Street, and is a focal point within that vista, its scale being large enough to screen the Old Town behind. Its size and elevated position cause it to dominate the eastern section of the Princes Street Gardens.

The Scottish American Memorial, or Scots American War Memorial, is in West Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh. It was called "The Call 1914", and it was erected in 1927 and shows a kilted infantryman looking towards Castle Rock. Behind the main statue is a frieze showing queues of men answering the call by following a kilted pipe band.
