Beast (Dr. Henry Philip "Hank" McCoy) is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics and is a founding member of the X-Men.Originally called "The Beast", the character was introduced as a mutant possessing ape-like superhuman physical strength and agility, oversized hands and feet, a genius-level intellect, and otherwise normal appearance and speech.
He played the mutant Hank McCoy / Beast in the 2011 superhero film X-Men: First Class, a role he reprised in later installments of the film series. Hoult played the title role in the adventure film Jack the Giant Slayer (2013) and a zombie in the romantic comedy Warm Bodies (2013).
The original series was an eight-issue limited series.It began in September 2006 and ended in April 2007. It was written by Jeff Parker and penciled by Roger Cruz.It was followed by a special issue in May 2007 and a monthly series that premiered in June 2007 with the same creative team.
