The original name of the mall was "West Georgia Commons." [4] When the mall opened, anchors Belk and JCPenney moved from downtown LaGrange to the mall. [4] In May 2012, Belk announced that the store would undergo a $2 million remodel, the project was finished in October 2012. [5] [6] In 2013, a TJ Maxx was announced for the mall.

Nutwood in LaGrange, Georgia, in Troup County, is a building built in 1833. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. [1] The Nutwood home was built by Joel Dortch Newsom, who relocated to LaGrange from Hancock County in 1830. The house stands on what was then the Newsom family plantation, east of LaGrange.
Liberty Hill in La Grange, Georgia, about 0.75 miles (1.21 km) west of the Chattahoochee River in Troup County, is a Greek Revival style plantation house built in the 1830s or 1840s. The original cotton plantation owner, John T. Boykin, bought the piece of land the house is on in 1836.
