His name is derived from the Visayan nursery rhyme Tong Tong Tong Pakitong-kitong, which is about crabs.

[2] He also directed Un (El) Capullo Marchito ("A Wilted Rosebud") in 1920. It starred Luisa Acuña, who then became a famous leading lady in Filipino silent films. [3]
