Walter Dewey Redman (May 17, 1931 – September 2, 2006) [1] was an American saxophonist who performed free jazz as a bandleader and with Ornette Coleman and Keith Jarrett. Redman mainly played tenor saxophone , though he occasionally also played alto , the Chinese suona (which he called a musette), and clarinet .
The Allmusic review by Thom Jurek awarded the album 4 stars stating "Redman himself is in fine form, playing with all of the deep, steamy lyricism he showcased so brilliantly with Ornette Coleman and in Old and New Dreams, but there is something else too, as evidenced by the track selection, and that is a new reverence for the tradition.
