  2. What Ink Is Safe To Use In Mont Blanc Fountain Pens?

    www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/156137-what-ink-is-safe-to-use-in-mont...

Location:A clearing in the forest, Canada. Flag: Posted May 25, 2010. A little while ago I bought seven bottles of Herbin ink. They are without a doubt the most benign inks that you can get. Mont Blanc pens are very tough and their own black ink is an iron gall ink, which should only be used in a pen with a gold nib.

The easiest way to make the 30-post and 30-day quota is to spend some time on Fountain Pen Network talking with people. The month and post numbers go by pretty quickly that way. -- Joel -- "I collect expensive and time-consuming hobbies." www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/96465-mont-blanc-310

A few years back I looked into the pedigree of my first Monty and learned that the 310 was designated as a school pen. The pen body and cap is made from some type of black acrylic (no precious resin here). The cap contains a gold ring at the crown from which the gold plated clip is attached.

Two very good references for MBs are The Montblanc Diary, by Jens Rösler, and Collectible Stars, by Jens Rösler and Stefan Wallrafen. The Montblanc Diary lists pens up to 1949, and Collectible Stars discusses MBs up to 1979. Edited January 2, 2009 by niksch. Hard times don't last, but hard people do.

  6. Smallest Size Of Mont Blanc Pen - The Fountain Pen Network

    www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/198515-smallest-size-of-mont-blanc-pen

As for the F nib, it's smoother and less feedback-y than the steel F nibs on the Sailor Profit Casual and Procolor 500 fountain pens. Kinda like a better, less flimsy-feeling version of the Sailor Lecoule's and Profit Jr.'s steel MF nibs.

  7. Identifying my Mont Blanc pen - Montblanc - The Fountain Pen...

    www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/362095-identifying-my-mont-blanc-pen

The nib information is not really much help unfortunately, au585 refers to 14K gold (n this case the gold nib is plated with Rhodium or something to give it the silvery finish to match the other metal trim), 4810 is on most or all Montblanc nibs as the height in meters of Mont Blanc in the alps.

Member - Gold. 259. Posted September 27, 2006 (edited) The Starwalker is the only Mont Blanc pen that I own, I was lucky enough to receive it for my birthday. In terms of styling I really like the design of the pen as it moves away from the traditional black Mont Blanc style. It looks modern yet classic and stylish.

The esaiest way to recocnise the difference is the cap top: black cap top = sixties, golden outline cap top = seventies. The 320 looks similar to the 221 (second one from the right) but with one cap ring only and a has (gold plated) steel nib. AxelMontblanc collector since 1968.

The tool may slip and damage the nib and/or feed. If any of those things break, you will need to send the pen to Montblanc to be fixed. In the event that you are happy to use your tool and remove the nib and feed, then go ahead, and I wish you good luck. You may replace the old glue with some silicone grease.

  11. Mont Blanc vs Cross - Montblanc - The Fountain Pen Network

    www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/92460-mont-blanc-vs-cross

    755. Posted January 26, 2009. The best thing you can do is to buy a Montblanc of your liking and then use it for time parallel with your Cross pen. With this you can experience in first hand how it performs and fits your taste of a pen. Beauty depends on the eyes of the beholder, and individuals differ.
