I decided to create one all-encompassing chart that would include many (if not quite all) of the Star Trek ships that are out there. The charts available below include those created by the Advanced Starship Design Bureau, Masao Okazaki at the Starfleet Museum, and Star Trek: Renaissance, the fan fiction series of which I was once a part.
This article, consisting of a table with "official" ship sizes and a commentary, is meant as a supplement for the general considerations on ship sizes and the ship comparison charts as well as for size analyses of single ships.
To help provide the most accurate information possible, these tables provide sources for the size of the ship and credit for the artist (where known) who created the image that is used in the chart. If any ship image is used with missing or incorrect credit, please let me know !
The fleet charts provide a size comparison of canon Federation and alien ships. The charts only include vessels whose structure or on-screen evidence allows at least a coarse size estimation and only if a good side view is available.
High-quality comparison charts with the best side views available - and my best estimates of their sizes. Beauty shots, studio miniature references, screen caps, illustrations, diagrams - only the best images.
STAR TREK Size Comparison Chart with the length of the starship Enterprise-D, Enterprise-E Defiant, Excelsior class, Constitution class, Akira class
That's the premise: a deck is 2.5 m + 0.5 m for EPS cables, power cables, ... = 3m height for a deck. Attention: Starfleet ships of the Intrepid class and Nova class from the 24th century have 4m (3m deck high + 1m Jefferies tube) because the Jefferies tubes are located between the decks.
