    It could be that as you have a chance for a nest on every chop, successful or not, the determining factor is not the level of the tree, but the number of chops per hour. With oaks you spend a higher time switching between trees, so you get fewer chops in. Or it could be that more data is needed to clear things up.

    The chance of a birds nest being dropped is 1/256 everytime one would get a log. The probability is 1/256 for every single tree. This is silly because it would take much longer to get birds nests chopping magic trees than if someone were chopping willows. The Woodcutting Cape does drop the probability to 1/230, but this is hardly an improvement.

    I was wcing in the the wcing guild, and a bird nest fell from the tree. However, instead of the usual bird chirp sound, a sound bite that was like 1 sec long played that sounded like a short demon child shrieking or something. Needless to say it scared the absolute shit out of me, pardon my french. it played at a ludicrously loud volume.
