   Dealer reset the Check Engine and Trac Off lights, and I drove the truck 20 miles home. Didn't start the Tacoma again until an OEM cap was installed. Drove the truck another 75-80 miles and both lights came on again yesterday.

   I had the same thing happen to me and went to the dealership (toyota dealership) ,,the parts man said it was my gas cap. I bought a new Toyota gas cap and that resolved the check engine and traction lights coming on. Saved a bunch of money,the dealership I bought it from (not a toyota dealer) wanted $100.+ dollars just to tell me what it was.

   Thank you everyone for the posts. Today I had the check engine light and traction control light appear on my 2010 Tacoma. Swung by autozone for a code check and the only thing that came up was a loose gas cap. Gave it an extra quarter turn, removed the positive battery cable for a few minutes to reset the lights. Good as new. Thanks every one.
