A rep for David Lee Roth didn’t have any additional comment. Roth then mocks Wolfgang for supposedly claiming the singer didn’t pay enough attention to him onstage and then embarks on an anecdote about Wolfgang supposedly taking revenge on Roth by having a woman watching the band from the side of the stage thrown out of two concerts.
[quote]David Lee Roth is gay. Period. And i truly believe this has been the main reason why Van Halen feud so much. Listen this is no gay bash because i am not like that at all. I grew up in the 80s if that helps you any. But my guess here is Eddie got a drunken hummer one night in the 70s from David and its gone downhill since.
Sammy is a cool dude. Not really a fan of hard rock, but he can play and sing. Plus he seems human and like a good person. Roth seems weird, couldn’t sing, dance or do anything other than clown around, which he did well. I’d like to see Roth vs. Hagar in Celebrity Boxing. Now THAT would be hilarious.

The only reason anyone went to see Van Halen was for Eddie's guitar theatrics, so Roth's retirement seems as something of a given at this stage rather than some shocking reveal. by Anonymous reply 3
David Lee Roth always seemed gay to me. My brother was backstage as a music writer years ago when Roth was with the band. Valerie Berinelli made a comment like "oh please. Everyone knows Dave is gay at this point". They were hugely popular during the hair band era. I never liked their music but didn't mind the Sammy Hagar songs.
David Carradine literally died in the closet. Bless his soul. [quote]Grainy images printed in the tabloid Thai Rath reportedly show the "Kung Fu" actor suspended from a clothing bar in a closet. Red women's lingerie appears to be on the bed adjacent to his body, according to ABCNews.com.
I always thought David Lee Roth and Paul Stanley were gay, even back in the '70s. I was a Metal guy in the '70s and '80s, but I was more into the harder bands like Metallica, AC/DC, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Krokus, Fates Warning, Queensryche, Saxon, Anthrax, etc.
Van Halen bandmates David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar — who replaced singer Roth in Van Halen in 1985 — also took to Twitter to celebrate their late colleague’s legendary life and career. Tributes poured in from other rock legends as well, including from Kiss frontman Gene Simmons and members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
