Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories also known in Japan as Yami Shibai (闇芝居, Yami Shibai, lit.Dark Play) and Theater of Darkness is a Japanese anime television series. The first season was directed by Tomoya Takashima, with scripts written by Hiromu Kumamoto and produced by ILCA.
An anime adaptation was produced by Radix Ace Entertainment, and directed by Mitsuhiro Tōgō and Shousei Jinno. The anime was based on Honami scenario of PC version, and contained twelve episodes and a special episode which mainly aired on Japanese Association of Independent Television Stations between June and September 2004.
