The district operates the 12,000-seat McKinney ISD Stadium that cost more than $70 million to build. It opened on August 31, 2018. After a widely publicized and vitriolic battle, PISD in 2009 approved boundary changes that would potentially expand PWSH's enrollment from 2,000 to 3,400 students over 3 years, due to growth patterns in the area's middle schools, eventually making Plano West the largest in Texas.
Due to the rapidly increasing number of students in Prosper ISD, the district began construction of a second high school in the summer of 2018. [3] The district spent over $200 million dollars on the construction of the school, the most ever spent on a high school in Texas at the time. [ 4 ]
