    Unfortunately, the online version of Word does not display all formatting properly. Switching to the reading view in Word Online should improve the situation, but the basic limitation remains: Word Online simply doesn't have the capabilities of the full, desktop version of Word that you can install on a PC or Mac.

    I also clicked on the pinned Word icon on the bottom bar, then pick an open Word file, Word online opens. I have always opened my Word files one of these 3 ways, and my Word always opened. Today is the first time the same actions opened Word online. I tried Word online once some time ago, didn't like it, and never again.
