The restaurant is named after the 18th century painter and engraver Reinier Vinkeles. Vinkeles made an etch from the entrance of a former theatre, burnt down in 1772. At the free space, the Roman Catholic "Ouderen & Armen kantoor" was built. It is now the entrance to the restaurant and the hotel. [10] [11] [12] [13]
De L'Europe Amsterdam is situated opposite and overlooking the Munt, where the river Amstel flows into the Rokin canal. The 19th-century hotel became an official monument (rijksmonument) in 2001. Restaurant Vermeer is a restaurant located in the NH Barbizon Palace hotel at the Prins Hendrikkade in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that received its first Michelin star in 1993. It later lost and regained its star, then scored two stars in 2003.
