The Mk II had a shorter wheelbase than the Mark I, and had four wheel drive by using a kit from Marmon–Herrington that offered a front-driven axle. It was known in British service as armoured car, Marmon–Herrington Mk II. The Mark I continued in production (until the end of 1940) while supply of parts from the United States was resolved. [6]
The new company was called Marmon-Herrington. In the early 1960s, Marmon-Herrington was purchased by the Pritzker family and became a member of an association of companies which eventually adopted the name The Marmon Group. Marmon-Herrington tanks that could not be delivered because of the fall of the Dutch East Indies were taken over by the US. The CTLS-4TAC and -4TAY tanks were redesignated light tank T14 and T16 respectively. They were used for training, some were used in Alaska and by the US Marines.
