Advocate Lutheran General Hospital (ALGH) is a 645-bed non-profit teaching hospital located in the Chicago suburb of Park Ridge, Illinois. Founded in 1897, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital is the sixth largest hospital in the Chicago area, and it operates a Level I trauma center .
According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Chicago Ridge has a total area of 2.27 square miles (5.88 km 2), all land. [7] Located in Cook County, the village is 18 miles (29 km) southwest of the Loop. Chicago Ridge's irregular shape is bounded by Oak Lawn on the north and east, Bridgeview and Palos Hills on the west, and Worth on the south. [5]

Advocate Children's Hospital was formed in 2012 when Hope Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn merged with Lutheran Children's Hospital in Park Ridge. [8] Following a trend for children's hospitals in the Chicago region, Advocate Children's Hospital expanded in 2018 when the hospital added 11 beds to their neonatal intensive care unit. [9]
