On December 14, 1987, Buffalo Public School 30 was renamed Frank A. Sedita Community School. [2] Sedita's son, Frank A. Sedita, Jr., was a judge on the New York State Supreme Court. His grandson, Frank A. Sedita III, was twice elected District Attorney of Erie County and is now a judge on the New York State Supreme Court.
He studied law with his father and his father's partner, Elba Reynolds. Ward was admitted to the bar in 1892 and practiced in Philipsville, now Belmont, New York. He later relocated to Buffalo, New York, where he was Erie County's collateral inheritance clerk and an assistant district attorney.
In 1873, he removed to Buffalo. He was District Attorney of Erie County from 1878 to 1880; and a member of the New York State Senate (31st D.) from 1882 to 1885, sitting in the 105th, 106th, 107th and 108th New York State Legislatures. He was a judge of the Buffalo Superior Court from 1886 to 1895.
Admitted to the New York bar in 1963, he commenced practice in Buffalo, and served as assistant district attorney of Erie County, New York in 1964. Erie County Comptroller from 1966 to 1974, he was also a delegate to the New York State Democratic convention in 1970, and to the Democratic National Convention in 1972 and 1988. [8]
