Maryland's Legislative District 8 is one of 47 districts in the state for the Maryland General Assembly. The district currently consists of part of Baltimore County, Maryland. [1] The district includes the communities of Carney, Overlea, Parkville, Perry Hall, Rosedale, Rossville, Towson, and White Marsh. The District was established in 1975.
District 8 Athletic Association administers secondary school sports servicing the Catholic and Independent high schools of the Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge region. It is a member of Central Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association and Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations .
The district overlaps with Manhattan Community Board 11 and Bronx Community Boards 1, 2, and 4, and with New York's 12th, 13th, and 15th congressional districts. It also overlaps with the 29th , 30th , and 32nd districts of the New York State Senate , and with the 68th, 77th, 84th, and 85th districts of the New York State Assembly .
Within PIAA, WPIAL has been designated as District 7, and since 1982, WPIAL/District 7. Although officially known as District 7, the WPIAL is grandfathered to keep the older name due to it predating the PIAA.
