Bridgend Industrial Estate is inhabited (amongst others) by such companies as Ford, though other large companies such as Sony have recently [when?] moved out of the estate. Evans was born in Cardiff and lived in Bridgend, South Wales. [1] He studied Economics at Cambridge University and, in 1983, joined the BBC at BBC Radio Wales. He became Welsh TV reporter of the Year in 1988 whilst working for HTV. He subsequently became the BBC's industry correspondent. [2]
