The Ferguson-Florissant School District (FFSD) is a public school district located in Greater St. Louis and in Missouri. Its headquarters are in Hazelwood . [ 3 ] The district covers all or part of 11 municipalities, serving more than 11,000 students from preschool through 12th grade.
In 1816, James Hart Stark moved from Kentucky to Louisiana, Missouri. He brought with him a bundle of apple scions. He started a nursery business from his bundle, officially incorporated in 1889. [citation needed] In 1893, Stark Bro's held their first International New Fruit Fair.
A boys' school, Smith Academy, was founded in 1854. A sister school for girls, Mary Institute, was founded in 1859 and was named for Eliot's late daughter Mary Rhodes Eliot, who had died at 17. In its early years, Mary Institute moved twice within the city of St. Louis; its third building, at the corner of Lake and Waterman, is now New City School.
Stark City is located along Missouri Route 86, nine miles east of Neosho. Newtonia is one mile north and Fairview is approximately six miles east, along Route 86. [6] According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.31 square miles (0.80 km 2), all land. [7]

Newton Prep School is located in Battersea, South London. It opened in September, 1991 with 70 pupils. The founder is Dr Farouk Walji. [1] Newton Prep has over 600 pupils. [2] It accepts pupils aged 3 to 13, from nursery until year 8. [3] Since its foundation, the school has always specialised in providing for children of high ability. [4]
A third boarding school in southwest Missouri, led by a former long-time staffer of the embattled Agape Boarding School, has closed, according to past students who have communicated with that owner.
In 1867, the center part of the first public high school building was erected. This building, which consisted of 3 rooms, was located at the corner of Magnolia and West North Streets. In 1917, a new high school was built next to the existing building, which was then converted to a grade school. This building was used as the high school until 1938.
