IISER Bhopal hosted the 4th Inter IISER Sports Meet (IISM 2015), 9 institutes participated in this event ( 6 IISERs, IISc, NISER, CBS Mumbai). The institute also organised a Summer Outreach Camp from 15th May- 21st May, 2022. Roughly 95 students had attended the camp from all over India for the same. IISER Bhopal hosts two annual festivals.

Mimamsa is an intercollegiate science challenge conducted by the students of IISER-P, with the aim to make the quiz conceptually challenging competition at the national level for science students. It is a two-stage affair. The first stage is a written exam with 60 subjective questions from all disciplines of science.
Up until 2018, the JEE-Main Paper-I was three hours long and consisted of thirty questions in each of the three subjects (physics, chemistry and maths). 4 marks are awarded for correct answers and 1 mark is deducted for incorrect answers.
