The Nebraska Cornhuskers women's beach volleyball team began play in the spring of 2013 as the school's twenty-second intercollegiate sport. In 2016, the NCAA began sponsoring a beach volleyball tournament (previously the sport was run by the AVCA ), but Nebraska did not attempt to qualify.
NU's beach roster is made up entirely of players from its indoor program, and head coach John Cook has said the school views beach volleyball primarily as a training and recruiting tool for its indoor team. Beach volleyball competes as an independent, making it one of only three programs at Nebraska not affiliated with the Big Ten.

Jenny Ann Kropp (born June 17, 1979) is an American beach volleyball player. Born in Grand Island, Nebraska , Kropp graduated from Grand Island Central Catholic High School in 1998. She studied at University of Nebraska–Lincoln where she played at middle blocker for the Nebraska Cornhuskers .

The 2006 NCAA Division I women's volleyball tournament began on November 30, 2006, with 64 teams and concluded on December 16, 2006, when top ranked Nebraska defeated second ranked Stanford 3 sets to 1 in Omaha, Nebraska for the program's third NCAA title.
