2C (2C-x) is a general name for the family of psychedelic phenethylamines containing methoxy groups on the 2 and 5 positions of a benzene ring. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] Most of these compounds also carry lipophilic substituents at the 4 position, usually resulting in more potent and more metabolically stable and longer acting compounds.
2-Aminoacetophenone, also known as β-ketophenethylamine, α-desmethylcathinone, or phenacylamine, is a substituted phenethylamine derivative. [1] [2] It is the phenethylamine homologue of cathinone (β-ketoamphetamine) and hence is a parent compound of a large number of stimulant and entactogen drugs.
2C-C is a psychedelic drug of the 2C family. It was first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin, sometimes used as an entheogen. In his book PiHKAL (Phenethylamines i Have Known And Loved), Shulgin lists the dosage range as 20–40 mg. 2C-C is usually taken orally, but may also be insufflated.
25C-NBOMe (NBOMe-2C-C, 2C-C-NBOMe, Cimbi-82) is a psychedelic drug and derivative of the psychedelic phenethylamine 2C-C. 25C-NBOMe appeared on online vendor sites in 2010 but was not reported in the literature until 2011. [3]
25B-NBOMe (NBOMe-2C-B, Cimbi-36, Nova, BOM 2-CB) is a derivative of the phenethylamine psychedelic 2C-B, discovered in 2004 by Ralf Heim at the Free University of Berlin. It acts as a potent full agonist for the 5HT 2A receptor .
2C-D (2,5-dimethoxy-4-methylphenethylamine or 2C-M) is a psychedelic drug of the 2C family that is sometimes used as an entheogen. It was first synthesized in 1970 by a team from the Texas Research Institute of Mental Sciences, [ 1 ] and its activity was subsequently investigated in humans by Alexander Shulgin .
βOH-2C-B is a substituted phenethylamine. It features methoxy substituents at the 2- and 5-position of the ring, as well as a bromine at the 4-position. A hydroxy group is present at the beta (β) position from the functional amine group connected to the alpha (α) carbon, giving rise to its name.
Like other 2C-X-NBOMe molecules, 25I-NBOMe is a derivative of the 2C family of phenethylamines described by chemist Alexander Shulgin in his book PiHKAL. [17] [15] Specifically, 25I-NBOMe is an N-benzyl derivative of the phenethylamine molecule 2C-I, formed by adding a 2-methoxybenzyl (BnOMe) onto the nitrogen (N) of the phenethylamine backbone ...
