This template creates a horizontal table of contents with links from A to Z (controllable) and four optional rows of links. It is intended primarily for list articles where the standard TOC would be unwieldy. The template is styled with the hlist class for accessibility and has few superfluous frills. The A–Z links do not appear by default.

These templates serve as quick navigational aids for large categories. While they serve a similar purpose to normal table-of-contents templates, they actually move between different pages of the category listing rather than simply jumping to an HTML anchor on the existing page.
Note that only the three subtemplates mentioned above are used to make the tables — this template page serves solely as documentation. Some notes: The scrollbar only appears if the table is actually wider than the page. This template allows up to 30 row headers passed as parameters to its {{Scrolling table/top}} subtemplate, for convenience.
