Delta Sigma Theta (ΔΣΘ), an international historically Black sorority, was founded on January 13, 1913, at Howard University.It has more than 1,000 collegiate and alumnae chapters located in the United States, Canada, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Liberia, Bermuda, Jamaica, The Bahamas, South Korea and Nigeria.
On October 31, 2005, Kappa Alpha Lambda held its first national initiation. It established the New York City Professional Colony, chartered on March 1, 2009. The Los Angeles Professional Colony was established the following summer and was also charted on March 1, 2009. The sorority's national headquarters is located in Powder Springs, Georgia. [3]

On October 2, 1914, Shaw formed Psi Psi Psi or Tri Psi, a sorority for the mothers of Delta Delta Delta members. [ 3 ] The organization partnered with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in 1999, and has raised more than $100 million to support St. Jude patients and their families as of 2024.
