Dobel was created by and named after Juan Domingo Beckmann Legorreta (Dobel being an acronym formed by the first syllables of Domingo Beckmann Legorreta). Beckmann was the eleventh-generation leader of Jose Cuervo tequilas, in collaboration with master distillers ("Maestros") Marco Anguiano and Luis Yerenas. [1] [2] It was introduced in 2008. [3]
I think the description of blended reposado, anejo, and extra anejo, and then filtered clear is only for their product named Diamante. This may have been their first product but they have since started selling a non-age mixed and non clear filtered reposado, a non clear filtered anejo, a silver, and a smoky silver.
