Talbot Trail Public School is a public elementary school in Windsor, Ontario.Built in 2005 to ease overcrowding at neighbouring elementary schools, Talbot Trail is known for being the first of several planned "themed" schools to be built in Ontario, and the school's theme of exploration led it to be honoured as one of the Top 25 Schools in Canada by a 2007 edition of Today's Parent magazine.
The school was opened in 1993 in Tecumseh, on the site of the original music school. In 1995, the school moved to a new campus in South Windsor, on the site of the former Holy Redeemer Seminary. During the 1990s and 2000s, a housing boom in Windsor led to rapidly rising school enrollment. [2] In 2000, overcrowding had become so severe that approximately 260 Grade 8 students were moved to nearby Massey Secondary School. [3] By 2003, development projects were underway across the region to address the overcrowding problems.

Originally named Wyandotte Street School, the building contained twelve classrooms and a Manual Training Room. [1] Ten of the rooms were in use by 1916, and by 1917 the school was in full use. [1] J.E. Benson's, or at the time Wyandotte Street School's, first principal was Mr. Fred Snider [2] and the first recorded attendance was 95 students. [1]
