Orion is a mining robot without a Transformation Cog, and along with his best friend D-16, they work in the Energon mines. They secretly enter a race organized by Cybertron's leader, Sentinel Prime, but lose. While Sentinel is impressed by their stunt, a jealous racer drags them to garbage incineration, where they meet the eccentric B-127.
Sentinel's forces find them, and in the ensuing battle, the evidence chip is destroyed while D-16, B-127, and Starscream are captured, along with half of the High Guard. Taken before Sentinel, D-16 learns he stole the cog of his idol, Megatronus Prime, before being mockingly branded with the latter's face.
Two Sentinel figures and a statue were released in the Marvel Minimates line, with the first figure depicting it fighting Rachel Summers as either Phoenix or Marvel Girl and the second, which is based on its appearance in Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, fighting Ryu. In the face of this rebellion and Sentinel's death, the High Guard are led by D-16, now renamed Megatron, who orders them to destroy all Iacon.
