Dora the Explorer is an American media franchise centered on an eponymous animated interactive fourth wall children's television series created by Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh Valdes, and Eric Weiner, and produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio.

The series centers around Dora Márquez, a seven-year-old Latina girl, with a love of embarking on quests related to an activity that she wants to partake of or a place that she wants to go to, accompanied by her talking purple backpack and anthropomorphic monkey companion named Boots (named for his beloved pair of red boots).
Dora was originally created to help teach Spanish in grade schools.As time went on, she was depicted on live shows in theatres, stadiums, and halls, originally as a bunny that lived in the woods, but later in production as a Pan-Hispanic (ambiguous race) girl. [1]
