The 1913 rail (MIL-STD-1913 rail) is an American rail integration system designed by Richard Swan [1] that provides a mounting platform for firearm accessories. It forms part of the NATO standard STANAG 2324 rail. It was originally used for mounting of telescopic sights atop the receivers of larger caliber rifles.
The SIG Sauer 200 STR has an 11 mm dovetail on the receiver for mounting a diopter rear sight or a scope sight, either directly or via a Picatinny rail adapter.. Dovetails come in several different types and sizes depending on manufacturer, but the most common are the 11 mm and 3 ⁄ 8 inch (9.5 mm).

The Picatinny rail has a similar profile to the Weaver, but the recoil groove width of the Picatinny rail is 0.206 in (5.23 mm) versus 0.180 in (4.57 mm) of the Weaver rail/mount, and by contrast with the Weaver, the spacing of the Picatinny recoil groove centers is consistent, at 0.394 in (10.01 mm). It can be mounted to a variety of rifles and light machine guns using the Picatinny rail mounting system or the similar Diemaco rail system found on small arms produced by Diemaco/Colt Canada. [2] Similar rifle sights are the Sight Unit Small Arms, Trilux (SUSAT) and the Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight (ACOG).
