Visakhapatnam (/ v ɪ ˌ s ɑː k ə ˈ p ʌ t n ə m /; formerly known as Vizagapatam, [16] also known as Vizag, Viśākha or Waltair [1] [17] [18] is the largest and most populous metropolitan city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. [19] It is between the Eastern Ghats and the coast of the Bay of Bengal.

It covers an area of 22 acres (8.9 ha) [1] and was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu on 15 September 2016. [2]
