Barangay Salawag is the largest barangay of the city in terms of land area and population. It is located in the north-eastern part of Dasmariñas. Bounded by cities of Imus and bacoor in the Northside and cities of Muntinlupa and Las piñas on the north eastern side and city of San Pedro in east side.

Barzaga became a barangay councilor of Barangay San Simon in 1997. In 2007, Barzaga became the mayor of Dasmariñas after she won in the 2007 elections. She campaigned successfully for the cityhood of the municipality in 2009, and was made its first city mayor. [2] She was later elected in 2010 and 2013.
N410 starts at the boundary of Silang and Dasmariñas in Cavite as the physical continuation of N419 (Aguinaldo Highway). The route then shifts slightly to the east as J.P.
