A transit map is a topological map in the form of a schematic diagram used to illustrate the routes and stations within a public transport system—whether this be bus, tram, rapid transit, commuter rail or ferry routes. Metro maps, subway maps, or tube maps of metropolitan railways are some common examples.
If a station has a Wikipedia article, link to that rather than the town. Avoid overlinkage to a city or railway when its occurrences are adjacent to each other on the route map. When the same feature (river, connecting railway, etc.) appears in multiple places it should be linked in each instance so that it not necessary to search for the wikilink.
