Copley Township, Ohio. ... Copley Township is one of the nine townships of Summit County, Ohio, United States. The 2020 census found 18,403 people in the township.
Variant names were Greenfield and Copley Center. [1] The first settlement at Copley Center was made around 1819. [2] The community was named for its location near the geographical center of Copley Township. [2] A post office called Copley Centre was established in 1835, the name was changed to Copley in 1841, and the post office closed in 1957. [3]
