Half Moon Bay is a coastal city in San Mateo County, California, United States, approximately 25 miles (40 kilometers) south of San Francisco. Its population was 11,795 as of the 2020 census. Immediately north of Half Moon Bay is Pillar Point Harbor and the unincorporated community of Princeton-by-the-Sea.
The Half Moon Bay Art and Pumpkin Festival is a two-day event held the following Saturday and Sunday, from 1971 to 2019, and since 2022. The COVID-19 pandemic caused the festival to be canceled in 2020; the 50th was deferred to 2021. [1] In 2021 the festival was again canceled, although there was a pumpkin weigh-off. [2]
