Johnson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas.As of the 2020 census, its population was 179,927. [1] Its county seat is Cleburne. [2] Johnson County is named for Colonel Middleton Tate Johnson Sr., a Texas Ranger, politician and soldier in the Mexican-American War and the American Civil War (fighting for the Confederate States Army). [3]
On March 10, 2010, 25 residents petitioned a specially called meeting of the Johnson County Commissioners Court to become incorporated as a municipality. The name "Coyote Flats" was submitted at the meeting. [5] An election to incorporate the City of Coyote Flats was held on May 8, 2010. The measure was approved by a vote of 76 to 11. [6]

Sand Flat is an unincorporated community in Johnson County, Texas, United States. [1] It is located along Farm to Market Road 4 (FM 4) in the southeastern part of the county, roughly midway between Cleburne and Grandview and just over one mile (1.6 km) north-northeast of the unincorporated community of Cuba .
