James Kerr (1 August 1737 – 17 September 1782) was a Scottish surgeon and naturalist who worked under the East India Company service in India. While in India, he described several species of plants and described the insect that produces lac resulting in the genus Kerria named after him.

James Stuart Kerr (born 9 October 1975) is a New Zealand former professional rugby union player. Born in Sydney, Kerr underwent his early schooling at Newington College , before moving to New Zealand and attending Gisborne Boys' High School , from where he gained New Zealand Schools representative selection.

James Kirkpatrick Kerr PC KC (1 August 1841 – 4 December 1916) was a Canadian lawyer and Senator. He served as Speaker of the Senate of Canada during the 11th Parliament from 14 January 1909 to 22 October 1911. [1] Kerr was born in Guelph in what was then Canada West in the Province of Canada.
