SOMA was originally opened in the early 1990s by Len Paul at an old warehouse in downtown San Diego on 555 Union Street, just south of Market Street and was originally a slaughterhouse – hence the name “SOuth of MArket." Jacobs Music Center is a performing arts theater in San Diego, California. It opened in 1929 as Fox Theatre, a Gothic Revival–style luxury theater. It was conferred to the San Diego Symphony in 1984. The center is also the location of various youth orchestra concerts, including the San Diego Youth Symphony's, and a conservatory.
