High Point University is a residential campus, with 19 residence halls in total. In 2019, The Princeton Review ranked High Point University #5 in the nation for Best College Dorm Rooms. [26] All High Point University students are required to reside on campus until senior year, unless they commute from their parent's permanent address.
High Point concluded the regular season as the Big South regular season champions, [8] and Huss was named the Big South Coach of the Year. In 2005, Qubein was named President of High Point University, where he has presided over a rapid expansion of the school. [13] Qubein is a major donor to High Point, having committed $10 million to the university, and is also one of the highest-paid university presidents in the United States, collecting a salary of $2.9 million per annum in 2013.
The 2024–25 High Point Panthers men's basketball team represents High Point University during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season.The Panthers, led by second-year head coach Alan Huss, play their home games at the Qubein Center in High Point, North Carolina as members of the Big South Conference.
He was subsequently hired by his father Tubby Smith as an assistant at High Point. [11] On February 16, 2022, the elder Smith stepped down as coach, making G.G. his replacement. [12] In his first full season, Smith led High Point to a 14-17 record. He was fired on March 3, 2023. [13]
