Revelation is the thirteenth studio album by American rock band Journey, and their first with lead singer Arnel Pineda. [5] It features 11 new songs ("Faith in the Heartland" was previously recorded with Steve Augeri), 11 re-recorded greatest hits (all featuring Pineda) and a DVD (North American version only) featuring the current lineup's concert in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 8, 2008.
It was also the only Journey album released by the now-defunct Sanctuary Records. The latter portion of the song "Faith in the Heartland" was heard during the December 10, 2006 edition of NBC 's Football Night in America , during a segment about Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo .
The song was written by Journey keyboard player Jonathan Cain. He began writing the song with only the lyrics "highway run into the midnight sun" on a paper napkin while on a tour bus headed to Saratoga Springs, New York. The next day, he completed the song in full in only a half-hour.
